That’s the attitude of every new generation who believes they can surpass the last one—improve upon, redefine and reformulate the process. Every single year, across this country, a vast amount of artists are graduating from colleges and universities singing this chant. Those who believe it in their hearts succeed, and those who don’t vanish. The 2006 Alfred University’s Bachelor of Fine Art Graduate Exhibition will feature a selection of the diverse student work. Including painting, printmaking, photography, video and sculpture, as well as site-specific installations the work exemplifies the scope and vision of the interdisciplinary curriculum of the university’s School of Art and Design.
